Devin Jones is a 21 year old kid who's about to get dumped by the 'love of his life' and just got a summer job at Joyland, an amusement park in North Carolina that just happens to be haunted by a girl murdered there a few years before.
I had the best time reading this book. It has nothing scary in it, so you can go ahead and read it if you're not a horror fan. I loved Dev, with his great disposition and his sometimes painful discovery of what it means to leave behind your childhood. I loved his friends, I loved everyone at Joyland and I adored Mike, a sick kid with the ability to see beyond what the rest of us see. This book is a perfect mix between a coming of age story and a mystery/whodunit.
Five stars and I'm truly happy I picked this one up!
